We have changed how electronic device charging is operated inside the mountain hut as follows.

We only accept charging for small devices such as smartphones, cameras, and headlamps, for a fee.
Please bring your own charging cables and related accessories.
We do not accept charging for power banks or large equipment such as drones.

In light of current social conditions and the constraints of the mountain hut’s infrastructure and operations, we have established the rules above.

As you may know, it has become common in recent years for each person to carry multiple digital devices. It is practically impossible to charge all of them under the mountain hut’s limited power supply and operational capacity (*).

Regarding power banks in particular, they consume a large amount of electricity, and fire risks during charging have also been noted. We therefore ask that you bring one with sufficient capacity in advance.

We hope you will understand this decision as an extension of traditional outdoor culture—the practice of preparing water, fuel, batteries, and other supplies according to the environment and your mountain plan.

While this topic has been debated in various ways recently, we hope it can also be an opportunity to reconsider that part of the appeal of nature experiences lies in enjoying travel that includes inconvenience and risk.

* Helicopter transport of supplies to mountain huts is limited in both volume and cost, which in turn constrains the scale of facilities, buildings, and staffing. For electricity, we operate a system that combines generators, solar power, and batteries to minimize environmental impact and reduce fuel consumption.
Furthermore, due to rising prices and the shrinking availability of helicopter services, rebuilding mountain huts is becoming practically impossible. Fire department response is also difficult in this environment, so we must take fire risks seriously. We appreciate your understanding.
